Anybody who knows me know's I luv to craft and I luv to surround myself with like minded people and these 2 ladies are an amazing inspiration to me Lisa has an eye for detail and color her original designs look beautiful I have even done her birdie pillow design and have it sitting in my living room. Her business name is The Red Thread. This cute little Frabkie pillow design from Lisa in the latest Homespun is so cute and I'm looking forward to making a few for some little memebers of my familyand some friends kids.

Juilanne from Gigglespot Designs is also an amazing lady with such beautiful hand stitching works I just love her designs and this bumble bee is the cutest.

MAKING HAPPY

Lately I have been busy making new stock for both my online store and the shop yesterday Harrison asked me to make him a Dino as one of his favorite tv shows us Dino Dan so here it is Dan the Dino just for Harry now I need to get into gear and make a few more to list online. I have also been doing lots of new colour combos of my hot air balloon mobiles for both the shop and orders.

Lately I have been trying to complete a few little projects for loved ones and here is the stroller blanket I made for my sister whom is going to be having her baby in April. I gave it to her the other day and she just loved it. Had so much fun doing this one that I wanna do another one twice as big for our front lounge room....

Just when we think All the holidays are over Australia Day and valentines day are just around the corner. So I have been working on some cute stock for the one you love. The garlands will be available in my Made it shop by the end of the day and I will also be sending some to Shop Handmade next week. What have you got planned for the weekend? Work life balance will be the key for me this year. So making time for family game night is 1st on my list of things to change this year. Tonight after dinner we spent some time playing dominos with Mario's vintage set I really luv them as they don't make then like they use to. Family time is the best! I love having the ability to work from home and do what I love to do as many times per week as I can. I have changed a few things around on my desk and have given myself a inspiration board to change as the seasons change or events come up and this is what it currently looks like!

I'm also currently working on some new stock for Shop Handmade...here is a sneak peak!

OK I know I'm running a little late in the posting but I'm trying to catch up on some quilting I have been wanting to do for some time now will give you a sneak peak son!

Our welcome to 2012 was amazing I had the best night we went down to the local grounds and had handmade sausage rolls, turkey and cranberry eats and salmon brushetta.

My hole family came out to see the 9pm fire works and the kids had the best time

I printed out some 2012 colouring in pages to keep them keen.

And as a big and little kids love Bubbles were the winning entertainment of the night along side the fireworks we has such a lovely breeze however needed to reposition our self a few times as they tended to end up in our neighbours faces a few times whops!

I had a great night chatting to my little sis who is having a baby in May. So we had lots to talk about including what we are going to do for her baby shower in March....

Last but not least we put the kids to bed then went home and checked out the fireworks on the TV and I'm all for a little kiss on new years how about you!

X-mas has come and Gone!

2011 X-mas break I spent a little time doing some DIY decorations with Harrison including X-mas Cards, Paper Trees, and paper chain garlands. I do happen to love X-mas time and everything that goes along with it. The craft making, baking and family fun times.

I also started a new range of wreaths that Sold VERY fast both on line and through my markets. Thanks to my lovely customers hope you loved yours on your doors as much as I loved mine.

I was playing with a few ideas for an Advent Calender for X-mas however I was running out of time and found this cute one in a local shop here in Penrith that has become my little weakness of late!

X-mas 2011 was spent at my Mothers place which lucky for me is only 3mins away I had everyone over my place on Boxing day. Both Days were amazing and We had a lovely day/evening drinking eating and being Merry but my fave part was playing charades a little tradition we started a few ago.

Lochie Harrison's Cuz just loved the gingerbread house that Harrison decorated and loved it so much that he couldn't wait to eat Santa!

Harrison doesn't like sweets so opted to eat the roof instead...Far trade I think.

On X-mas day the boy's loved to show of there new glasses from Auntie Emy and Uncle Joe!

Overall our Christmas was full of fun times and way too much food!

The last few weeks have been very busy and that's putting it softly! I have orders coming out of my ears and stock to complete before this weekend HUGE Christmas Handmade market in Canberra. I always look forward to this market everyone in Canberra is so lovely and welcoming but not only that I tend to save my shopping for Handmade market I'm going with my own little Christmaslist just in time for last Christmas Gifts!.

When the rain comes out I always make my way to pinterest of late to give me some great indoor kids crafts to do with Harrison. He loves craft and sewing so anything that he can either get a little messy with or get hands on he loves so this week we did some Foot painting and we turned his huge size 9-10 feet into reindeer's this was a great idea I saw on Pinterest and loved it. So cute....What indoor craft ideas do you have or have seen lately?

Cute Moments and New Stock

This week Harrison had his Santa photo taken and I love asking the ladies to take a shot of Harrison talking to Santa (This is my fave moment.) He is asking him this year for a RED computer....( Which I have had on layby since June & Harrison hasn't forgotten it!) So when I asked him what he wanted for Christmas he said that RED computer you told Santa about on the phone when I was good remember Mummy...Yes that's right my 3 year old forgets nothing.

Harrison's cuz Lochie loves to play around and here is Kent (my brother) and Lochie playing with my Moustaches at Cobbitty Markets in November...

This Christmas I have sent Shop Handmade some lovely new NOEL & JOY bunting and some lovely new Heart decorations for the Tree. I'm also currently working on some lovely wreaths which should be in the post next week.

LONG TIME AWAY

OK so I have been away for long enough and I thought I would let you all know what I have been up to of late...I have been focusing on my family and health over the last few months and have neglected to keep my blog up dated....I'm still alive and everyone in my life is healthy and Happy.

Because the weather has been crazy hot over here in Sydney Harrison and I have been spending some time at the pools and last week we meet a friend and her little daughter for a great time in the water. Harrison seams to be liking the water more and more and will be finally taking some lessons next week.

Harrison has been drawing around the clock and is loving any type of art work at the moment which to be honest with you I'm loving....SO I got some frames and have framed his fave images. My fave is the one on the right it's a picture of our family including his bear and the sun...(love that our ears are long lines coming from our heads very cute)

We also went to one of Mario's customers / Friends place for a BBQ dinner and Harrison had a chance to get on a Quad bike for the 1st time he was so

cute and loved every minute of it.

He is growing up so fast.

Harry has also been spending every 2nd weekend with his Cuz which he is loving. They are the complete opposite to each other witch some how makes there relationship work so well. We took them to the Aquitic centre in Homebush which they loved however my brother, Mario and I all feel into a heap after getting home from being so tired of running around after them all day.

If it seems like I've been somewhat missing in action...and have posted virtually no Posts of late it may have something to do with the mountain of sewing I have had to finish over this last week for the Handmade Market this weekend....Yes that's right 2 days of amazing stalls, food and socialising....YAY! I can't wait...

AUGUST CATCH UP

OK so it has been a very long time since I blogged...Life has just gotten away with me. Back in August I was lucky enough to go on a ladies crafting weekend with some dear Friends. I learnt how to pieced together a quilt and got some more crochet done so it was very productive. I totally feel in love with these ladies even more. If you know me well you know that I don't get out that much so having a group of ladies to craft with laugh just makes me wanna cry with joy!

This was Peta's amazing quilt I'm loving the colours...

This is the piecing of my quilt I made it a queen size so now have to get some one to bind it and have it machine quilted together.....

On the 13th August my brother & I took the boyz Harrison and his Cuz Lochie to the Handmade Revolution open day at Powerhouse Discovery Centre, Castle Hill. They had an amazing time Harrison's fav part of the day was doing some Paper Lace art works.

I was also lucky enough to run into some amazing ladies Cass, Lisa and Fiona and there families...

During August I have also been making changes to Harrison's little boy room. One which included getting some $2.50 each spice racks from Ikea painting them Red and using them as a book nook for Harrison to see all his Fav books on display.

MARKET WRAP UP

Saturday at Mathilda's Market Sydney was an amazing sunny day full of lovely families out for a fun filled day of shopping. There was an amazing selection of stall holders. And thanks to my lovely darling husband I was able to have a walk around a few times to say hello to my lovely market lady friends...It was lovely to see you all again.

The hall looked amazing and is a lovely setting for Sydney's Mathilda's Market and the best thing is that it is now in conjunction with Boutique Market so Mummy can now shop for her self too...(And that I did I scored some lovely earrings that I wore to a baby shower on Sunday.)

My mother from Forever Beautiful Creations also had a stall which looked amazing although she was still in her wheel chair it was great to see her out and about and her daughters weren't far away Emily from Short & Sweet was right next to me and My was right across from me so it was perfect for our family of Market ladies and all our Men were there to support us.

My amazing friend from Giggle Spot Designs was also there with a new addition to her family I'm calling him Wally the Whale he is so cute with his droopy eyes I'm totally in love with him I mean how could you not be.

Yay it's on again this Saturday however there will be two amazing markets in one.....

Mathilda's Market will now be Held at Moore Park along side the amazing Boutique Market there will be so many amazing stall holders there so make sure you come along and bring the money as I know I will not only have a stall there but be ready to shop.....and the best thing is there will be stalls for Mummy not just baby....

I will have on display not just my regular baby mobiles but also a large selection of my new hot air balloons....and crochet bunting.

I have also been working hard on some more snails and book worms as requested by some lovely customers that will be shopping at the Markets this Saturday.

I know ...this post is a little late but my Harrison has been keeping me away from the computer lately with his demanding finger clicking ways and his Mummy every second of the day high pitched yelling...ahhhhh

Only 5 more weeks with the Cast on ...ahhhhh...

Mario and I stayed over in Canberra for our 11yr anniversary and of course the first stop was a visit to Shop handmade and it was amazing.

I was able to take a few shots of the shop for you all to marvel over I happen to have one of these amazing ponies already for Harrison and how cute do they look peeping over the cabinet. They are from Two by Two.

The front display looks so lovely all set up for market day always love seeing what the girls have done in the front window or front display. Being so far from this amazing shop means I have to wait for little snippets of loveliness through there blog.

My husband fell in love with the amazing art works around the shop.

Gifts Created was displayed around the shop and had a little home upon the shelf....

I had such an amazing day and meet so many lovely Canberra people and Sydney siders that travelled down just for this amazing Handmade world of loveliness. Taking Photos

OK so over the last few nights I have been reading up on some sites on the web on how to take great photos for selling your products on line.

So today while the sun was hiding and it was pouring down with rain I travelled the whole 3mins to my Mums and Dads to have a go at taking some photos of both her amazing handmade loveliness (stay tuned for a sneak peek at the photos soon) and while I had everything set up I had a chance to take some photos of my new crochet bunting.

I can see they still need a bit of improving on however not bad for a 1st attempt.

I'm in love with the brights of this bunting.

HANDMADE MARKET THIS WEEKEND

Well today I'm packing for the Handmade Market Canberra tomorrow. Have been very busy this week preparing stock completing crochet bunting and spending time

with my little son and his broken leg.

Today is time to chill out pack bags and head off to Canberra for a great night out with my darling husband as we spend our 11yr anniversary together.

Darling I love you more now then the day we meet you have brought such joy to my life and now with the addition of Harrison to our family 3yrs ago my life in complete.

Darling I love you and can't wait to spend the next 11yrs enjoying what ever life has to send our way....xxx

This month has already been an adventure my Little Harrison has broken his leg so in between my last week of working a part time job, finishing off orders and creating more stock for Handmade and looking after a demanding little 3yr old I'm already over June!

However some things still make me smile like being able to keep my work space clean and tidy, My new monthly calender which you can get from here and the way that the sun shines in my craft space off an afternoon.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HARRISON

Well last Sunday my little boy Harrison who will be turning 3 next week had his

Rainbow Birthday Party.

This was the 1st real Birthday Party he has ever had so a lot was done to make his special day exciting and fun for everyone.

The rainbow printable's were from paper glitter and are free! I used them for his invites, water bottle labels, cupcake cups, hats etc.

The banner I made with colour swatches from bunnings in rainbow colours I had help from my lovely mother to write on them Happy Birthday Harrison and hot glue them to red ribbon.

The desert table cards are from peace heart cupcakes and can be found here

The cake was made using the Whisk Kids rainbow cake recipe that can be found here

There was cupcake decorating and canvas designing for the kids along with the normal kids party games like parse the parcel and the pinata.

I attempted to make a rainbow cake which turned out great and my sister from short and sweet designs decorated it along with making some amazing balloon cookies on sticks for the kids and parents as gifts.

The desert table also had white chocolate food dies coated oreos, fairy bread in the shape of a train, rainbow popcorn, rainbow cookies, rainbow coloured cordials and lots of other colourful lollies.

We also had a lot of fun with my new range of rainbow coloured moustaches.

MY CLIPBOARD WALL ART

OK so I walk past this blank wall every day and, and every day I wounder what am I going to do to fill up the space. The problem I found was that it is a wall the ties my work area into our front lounge. It also happens to be the first room that people walk into when they visit us so I wanted it to make a statement.

I have been toying with the idea of doing a clipboard wall for some time and seeing that I have already made my cushions and a puff (which I'm still to complete) out of the LOVE collection from Amy Butler I thought that would be a great way to tie the two functions of this room together.

So here you have it my completed handy clipboard wall art great fabrics and a useful function.

The wall decors were from Spotlight and I couldn't have matched the colours better..amazing how some things fall in your lap.

Now onto preparations for my sons Rainbow party this weekend

He is turning 3 already where has the time gone..

I'm a little nervous as I'm making a 5 layer rainbow cake wish me luck.

NEW CLEAN WORK SPACE

BEFORE

Well this was my current working from home situation of late stuff everywhere. No real organisation etc however I had been wanting to change the look of my work room for some time however last night and this morning I did just that and I couldn't be happier with the results.

AFTER

I used some soft cream fabric curtains that have been handed down from my mothers old work room and cut and sewed them to size. It really does transform the space for drab and messy to organised and clean.

This is the view of my work room from my front living room as you can see it has become more apart of the whole living space and flows better.

Easter 2011

Well what a Easter. This year I was lucky to have my lovely family over for an Easter lunch and it was so much fun decorating for Easter. I haven't done Easter at my house before but couldn't wait to decorate for the event. I got out my tree and placed some very cute paper mashie eggs and some pastel colour metal eggs on it.

I made some cute gulente free cup cakes (that my nephew Lochie requires)

Also made some pastel coloured choc dipped oreos yummy!

The menu consisted of gourmet sandwich's

turkey and creamy brie

smoked salmon, cream cheese and baby capers

creamy egg and lettuce

prawns and lettuce

Danish salami and tomato chuckney

That night we headed to my Mothers for dinner as it was my brothers birthday and the amazing Emily my sister made a lovely cake for his birthday. The top card had Harrison's name all over it!

I had such a great weekend on Saturday I attended Cobbitty Markets it was such a lovely market great weather and such a wonderful crowd.

On Sunday I attended the 1st Petite People Market in Glenmore Park there was a super crowd and it was great to see so many talented artists and amazing handmade items together in one place.

Crystal is the brains behind the market and she is amazing to deal with.

Looking forward to returning next month.

My sister Emily from Short & Sweet Designs had a beautiful stand next to me look at her amazing Cookies. This was her 1st market and I believe she will be a huge success. She was busy all day. A good sign of things to come!

A shout out goes to the ladies from The Monkey Brush these designs are amazing and they are such lovely girls looking forward to doing Sydney Boutique Market in Castle Hill with them next Sunday.

SPREADING THE LOVE

Had a great weekend busy but fun. Meet some lovely Ladies Emma and Susannah from Six in a Row. Love everything about these lovely ladies and it was a pleasure to be placed right next to them on Saturday at Handmade in Canberra. LOVE there Stuff and it took me all day to pick my necklace but after getting it home I totally made the right choice.

However we went from one extreme to the other in regards to weather on Sat it was a lovely cool partly raining day in Canberra and today was HOT HOT HOT at my 1st Hide & Seek market.

The crowds weren't having a bar of travelling out to in the heat to visit us at Hide & Seek toady however it did give me a chance to chat to the lovely Julianne from Giggle Spot designs. Don't you just love the turtle he is my current Fave however everything this lovely lady makes is GOLD!

This week I will spending some time catching up with friends along with getting a start and finish on my name tag for Sew It Together in March.

Well This Sunday I will be attending my 1st Hide & Seek Market at the new venue. Looking forward to getting a chance to say hello to my fellow market ladies along with selling my new range of moustache's.

I'm in love with Crocheting I can't believe that it has taken me so long to learn how to do it but now I can't stop now that I have started. I'm making a few things at once. I'm making Harrison a Red and White throw for his room. I'm also doing a rug to match in with my lounge I'm loving the granny squares.

I have also been busy making some new bow head bands that will be available at Canberra Handmade Market and my 1st Hide & Seek market next weekend.

This year for me is all about Making Happy!

HANDMADE MARKET AGAIN IN 2011

Last year we spent a lot of time back and forth between Sydney and Canberra doing markets and this year we (my darling Husband and myself) are doing it all over again!

So look out Canberra Gifts Created is coming. In just over 3 weeks we will be attending the amazing Handmade Market Canberra and it's going to be held at the new venue

The National Convention Centre in the heart of Canberra.

There will be air conditioning, undercover stalls, plenty of parking, and close ATM facilities.

Many of the regular stall holders will be attending along with many New designers.

It will be on Saturday 19 February 2011 from 11am to 4pm at The National Convention Centre, Canberra.

So come on by and say a big hello!

Today I spent the day making some new fun stock for Shop Handmade. Harrison and Bear had so much fun with these moustache's that I had trouble packing them away. I always test run my new items on Harrison as I know if they out last a play session with Harrison and Bear then I know there fine for my customers.
These moustache's will look great for family photos, fun for kids parties, great in the work place photos, or even fun for Hens, Bucks or weddings just set up a great big empty photo frame in front of a nice fabric and there you have it a fun photo booth for your guest just add a few other props like top hats or feather bowers and you guest will have the time of there lives....
I'm planning on doing some more for my fathers 60th birthday party later in the year.

THE YEAR THAT WAS

So Much Happened in 2010 both on a Business and Personal note so toady I'm looking back at some of the Happy and not so Happy times.

In June of 2010 my darling husband Mario and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary.

After moving into our new home in Septemeber not long after we lost are darling Labby Sasha whom we had for almost 11years. She was the most amazing dog and just adored Harrison she will be missed.

In May I took on the Challange of working for Unilever (Streets and Lipton) Part time.

Through out the year I attaended the Craft room in the Hills totally loved every month and meet so many lovely people. It was one of the high lights in 2010 for me.

I was very lucky to be involved in the book Handmade Living in which I love.

I also attended a huge amount of markets both in Sydney and Canberra and would like to thank everyone for there support.

You can add any colour M&M's to the mix for a different themed party. My sister is holding a winter wounderland theme this year so I'm thinking Blue and white M&M's.

Handmade Living Launch Party

Wow - what a fabulous evening at Shop Handmade in the nation's capital on Friday night. I'm so jealous as there where over 100 people milled in and around the store on a gorgeous twilight summer evening to celebrate the launch of the beautiful handmade living. Tinkling glasses, giggles, book signings, giveaway and as I was told the cash register didn't stop ringing all night long - I couldn't make the event but so wanted to enjoy the company of these lovely ladies and all there efforts.

I would also have loved to do some last minute Christmas shopping as well.

Well this year I have been apart of many great markets and I'm looking forward to many more next year. I am planning on scaling back the amount of markets I do and spend some of my time posting items on line and working on some new patterns.

Any suggestions of patterns you would like to see?

MARKET WEEKEND

OK so this weekend I have 2 markets yes two and there not just small markets but big crazy busy, fun and full of action markets on Saturday morning I will be heading off to Canberra for the amazing Handmade Market It's a twilight market so I'm looking forward to having a great time with just my hubby and me...

On Sunday I will be back in Sydney to attend the amazing Mathilda's Market Lane Cove.

So many wonderful Market Ladies to say hello to and a few are also doing the 2 markets over this weekend. I'm totally looking forward to this busy time and spending it with my man makes it so much more fun. Hay I've been married for 10 years and take US time as it comes!

LOOKING PRETTY

Well it has been a while since we moved in however we finally had the arrive of our new lounge and arm chair on Thursday so I took some time out of my crazy sewing roster and spent a few hours yesterday making some cushions for the new front lounge room. Using the Amy Butler Love collection. I'm also in the process of making a honey bun floor cushion with the same collection.

I chose a raftan type floor rug manly as this lounge also acts as a walk way to the open plan kitchen so wanted something durable also Harrison loves the open space to play with his train sets.

How cute is the foot stool...

I also made use of my old rocking chair by taking the rockers off the bottom and making some great matching cushions to tie it into the room..

Overall I'm happy with the end result. Now back to sewing....

UP DATING

Over the weekend I spent some time on some of my home to do list I painted a feature wall in the front lounge a fantastic bright Aqua and got to changing the fabric on our dinning room chairs.

I purchased the fabric at spotlight in the furnishing section it goes great with the overall theme of the room.

I'm also thinking about giving all 8 chairs a sand and painting them a deep blue to match the fabric but my darling husband is trying to tell me that it wont match the wooden table??mmmm

Last week I had a request from a customer asking for another Elephant to match the one she bought at the very 1st Handmade market I did back at the beginning of the year wow I love customer's that keep coming back THANKS....

Any how I have for some time been working on making a change to my Elephants as my sister in law mentioned that Elephants with there trunks up are good luck so here you have it the new and improved Ellie the Elephant. My inspiration came from my much loved snail design...Hope you like them....Will have lots available at my next few markets...

OK Christmas is just around the corner and so Is my 1st Christmas market. Looking forward to heading over to Canberra for Mathilda's in a few weeks as I have been busy preparing some cute Christmas items along with the very popular owls and snails.

I'm also looking forward to catching up with some great market ladies and will again enjoy the company of my husband

however we will be without child so there should be a little less stress on the day.

I have been a little absent from the blogging seen for some time as I have been suffering from really bad neck pain that has put out my whole body.

But I'm still trying to push through the pain to sew, sew, sew...

We are all settled in to our new place and I will have to post some photos soon however Harrison dropped the camera a few weeks ago and I haven't gotten around to getting another..Something to add to my to do list..

I have been wanting to do a photo wall for some time but never had the perfect wall to allow such an beautiful array of photo frames.

Now with the new house I have a little space to do this so I did a little searching on the net and found some inspiration.

And over the weekend I went through my boxes to find some great photos both old and new. I wanted a mix of frames to add a bit of drama to the wall..

I'm very happy with the finished product and the best this is I can replace the old photos with updated ones any time I feel like it I was even thinking of painting some frames to match the colour scheme of the room...

NEW HOME MAKEOVER

In the past I haven't been a girly girl however after seeing the cover of last months Real Living I have been converted. I'm loving the mix of brights and plan fabrics along with white and bright blue furniture. So when designing my new living space I have based my colour scheme around this cover.

I also am loving Amy Butlers new Honey bun poufs and are looking forward to receiving my pattern in the post some time this week all I have to do now is purchase some great fabric!

I'm enjoying my little break from designing and sewing form the business as I have spent my days working part time, unpacking, cleaning, cooking and sewing things for me and the new house. Don't worry I'll be back soon with more designs and stock soon.

How Exciting Canberra Handmade Markets are back again this Saturday. And although I have been busy packing for a move to the new house I have also been sewing up a storm and will have a great range of my products available from my stall located inside the beautiful hall. You wont be able to resist the beautiful array of stall holders that are lined up for this month I already have a shopping list as long as my arm good things my husband doesn't read my blogs or I'll be in trouble lol!.

Stop by and say hello. The best part for me about doing handmade markets is catching up with all the my market lady friends, seeing returning customers and meeting new and exciting people/customers. Spring has Sprung

Spring has sprung over here in Glossodia and with only 19 days left to pack the Saliba family have been very busy with sorting, throwing away and cleaning the house from top to bottom. But on Sunday it was such a lovely day that we took some time out from packing and spent some time in the Garden.

I love spring and all it has to offer.... Harrison and Mario spent some time under the plum tree that is in full bloom at the moment...

And Harrison couldn't resist picking a mandarin off the tree and eating it.

I have also been very busy sewing for next weekends Handmade and Mathildas markets in Canberra... Some sneak peeks coming soon...

I'm sorry it has been so long between posts...I promised my self back in April that I would blog more and share my inspirations...However life has thrown a little curve ball of late. We Sold our house and needed to find another place fast...The problem was that we, and when I say we I mean my darling husband and I couldn't decide on where to live....and with only 2wks at best to find a new place to call home.

Any how after long stints on the computer (time usually put to better use like sewing) I made a short list of areas that I would like to live...I was positive that I wanted to be more apart of the community and with Harry off to school before you know it I wanted a place safe to take walks to the park etc...So after a lot of driving around we decided on Glenmore park...we were so lucky to have found a great single story 4 bedder home enough room for another little Saliba in the future (fingers crossed) with a great kithchen and to top of our good luck I will now be living on Sunningdale drive...Isn't that just the cutest name ever....So now comes the hard part and for any body that has moved of late I'm feeling your pain what a headache...The paper work, packing, sorting, throwing away, giving away the cleaning ahhhhh and to top that off if that wasn't enough we now only have 3 weeks to move and I have one of my biggest market weekend's in Canberra in between all this how will I get it all done...I think FAMILY HELP is really the key..Thanks Team we would never have gotten through this journey in our life if it wasn't for your love.

Yay the new issue of the sensational mag Shop 4 Kids is out now and guess who is making her first appearance in amongst some wonderful handmade designers you guessed it right ME!

It's such a great magazine as when pregnant and even now I find inspiration in ever page and to find that the founder of Handmade Julie Nicholos has also made a few quotes on both the handmade market and Shop Handmade is very exciting.

Mathilda's Market and Madeit also appear on it's pages double Yay! I also have the pleasure of appearing along side some great designers including Gypsy Tutu, Paperklip designs, retro mummy to name just a few....

And look at who is sharing the lime light...no one other them Mr Happy snail Spot!...However the price listed is incorrect ...The snails are selling at $38.00 not $34.00 sorry about that (still a bargain) if I do say so myself...

MATHILDAS MARKET THIS SUNDAY

Well it's here again. Mathilda's Market Lane Cove will be happening again this Sunday. So for the last few weeks I have been crazy working on a few new designs and trying to improve on some old ones. There was still so many things left unfinished from my to do list for this weekends market however I also have 2 very big markets in September in Canberra to prepare for so I'm not too disappointed. Although it's been challenging over the last few months to get the work play balance right as I'm now juggling a part time job, my little business, having the stress of having our house on the market, and being a mum and wife and all the things that come with that role...cook, cleaner, etc...I've noticed now more then every the benefit of being able to multi task.

I'm sooooo looking forward to spending the day with my much loved Market Lady friends and getting to meet some more new faces. My Darling Husband will also be helping me out for the day so I may get a chance to have a peek around. Some of my new designs include a moon and star mobile, Happy thunder cloud rattles and a new take on my popular apple and pears so be sure to come by and say hello!

A MUSHROOM WEEKEND

Over the weekend I have been crazy busy making new story book mushrooms just in time for Mathilda's Market Lane cove in a few weeks. I have been asked many times over to make smaller Mushroom families so here they are all finished and ready to be packed away for the market. I'm also selling some smaller mushrooms as requested by customer's they look so cute on a book shelf and they can double as a pin cushion.

Now back to my next project's more snails, owls, book worms, whales, scottie dogs and a new moon and star mobile.... Have a great week everyone!

ONTO A GOOD THING

OK so the best thing about being sick is the extra time I've been spending in bed early nights and all so I have been catching up on my reading. I'm totally in love with Vampire films

(I think I've seen them all) and now with the Twilight saga It's allowed me to relive my love of reading..I have just finished the book eclipse and have started on Breaking Dawn. Last week I went to see the movie although not as good as the book still a great movie. So much to look forward too....

I was saying to my sister How much I love Victoria's red curly hair in the movie. Oh how I wish I could pull off a red hair look. My husband happens to hate red hair. Bummer! I would change my hair colour in a second if I knew I could get away with it!Just love it...

SICK YET AGAIN

OK totally been hit with a bad Flu yet again thought I was over the Flu for this winter but I appear to be wrong. As you can see I'm feeling a little sad for my self today....
I had such a long to do list to start on today that includes:
1. Pick up more ink for the printer
2. Ironing the mountain of clothing that has piled up over the last week
3. Clean up the kitchen cupboards
4. Stack some more fire wood inside
5. Harrison time (that tends to take over most of the day)
6. Complete stuffing owls and birds for some orders
ahhhh don't think I'll get half my list done today might add 2 more thing to that list
7. Make some chicken soup for dinner
8. Go to bed before 10pm.
Might take me the hole week to get through the rest of the list but will have to make the last 2 items a priority if I wanna get better any time soon.

TAKING SOME TIME OUT TO LOVE

Well it's been a while since my last post. I have been busy doing family things. After getting over my bad case of bronchitis which is still lingering a little I sat back and reassessed the way I have been doing things. Up till now I had been working around the clock 7 days a week to produce as much stock as possible for the overwhelming amount of markets I was committing too and for what? I know I love going to markets and spending time out in the real world but I looked down at my little man yes little MAN! and I woundered where the time went?. So NOW my life is half full and not half empty. I'm spending more time with my little one I have also committed to working 2-3 days a week at a part time job and have dedicated at least 2 nights a week to sewing and designing however making sure I'm in bed by midnight! You will still see me at Handmade and Mathilda's Markets but as I'm not super women that is all I can committee to at present.

On the Family frount Mario and I have just celebrated our 10 year anniversary That's right 10 years! So we took the family out to the Hunter for the long weekend and had a great time.....

We also celebrated Harrison's and Grandpa's birthdays while we were away the glasses made for a nice touch to the afternoon at Harrison's pub in the Hunter!

HANDMADE MARKET THIS SATURDAY

Well it's time again to travel to Canberra for the amazing Handmade Markets held on the lovely grounds at Kamberra Wine Company. I have been so excited for the last month however as I have been suffering from Bronchitis for over 2 weeks now I was afraid that I wasn't going to be able to attend but to my excitement I awoke this morning without a headache, blocked nose and wheezing however as anybody who has had bronchitis knows the cough and out of breathlessness stays with you for a long time...So I will be rugging up and so happy I'm extra happy to have a lovely cozy spot indoors.

Congrats to the lovely ladies from Shop handmade for a wonderful article in the Canberra city news. And just loving the cover....NOW have to get me some of those pears from red stitch designs before Brenda's run off her feet check her items out here!

WHEN MUMMY GETS SICK

When I think of all the times when I was little and it involved being sick I remember all I wanted was my mother to take away the pain -what is it about being sick and wanting your Mummy or Mumma as Harrison calls me. So then what happens when Mumma gets sick who's there for her. Well I thought no one but I was sadly mistaken. My darling Husband Mario has been there for me from last Monday till today when we went to the Hospital and waiting with Harrison for over 5 hours before I was on the way home with drugs and directions to rest no matter what. This weekend we were to celebrate Harrison's 2nd Birthday his outfit was picked out we were having a circus theme so any one whom knows me knows that I don't do things by halves but you will have to stay tuned to see him all dressed up cause I promised him it was postponed not cancelled. My sister stayed up till late last night making cookies (poor thing). SO for now plans are on hold.

My total to do list is currently on hold until I feel remotely normal -I have 2 outstanding orders to complete and post along with stock for Handmade to finish (lots of snails) next weekend that I'm not even sure I'll be well enough to travel as I'm throwing up every hour.

So for now it's back to bed for Mumma and Thanks to my darling husband whom I couldn't have survived today without. And to my darling Mum whom we called in the early hours this morning when I thought I couldn't take the coughing and throwing up any longer your words of wisdom always seem to lead the way to my recovery.

Woodlands Birthday

As tomorrow is Harrison's 2nd birthday I've found my self recently looking out for great ideas on birthday themes and great desert tables as this appears to be the range at the moment and a friend of mine told me about this lovely lady and her wonderful sons birthday and it just happened to include some of my designs.

I Love the idea of bring the inside out and how she has used the moss as a great feature in the draws.I also love the idea of having my owl mobile hanging from a tree great little touch.

Totally in love with this desert table and the toadstools add a great touch to the table.

All in all I had a good day. Although I was very tired as this market just came at the wrong time in my life. It was a great mix of stall holders. Poppy is so lovely I wish her all the best.

Some of you have been asking how my Grandmother is and a short up date is that she passed away and I have just returned from Adelaide. So it's taken me a lot longer to get back into the swing of things then I thought. During that week I also started a day job to get me back into the work force 2 days a week so I must admit my head hasn't caught up with my feet yet. But I promise to return to my happy self soon and return some of those e-mails.

Thanks to everyone who stoped by on Sunday to visit me at Mathilda's Market. I had a great day selling, smiling and meeting up with all my market lady friends. The stall looked amazing as usually and I managed to make a last minute purchase from the lovely ladies at the stand next to me mad about the boy! Harrison will be wearing them tomorrow a cute jacket and jeans as we venture to Adelaide by plane (Harrison's 1st trip on a plane) My Nanna has fallen ill so the whole family 8 of us and 2 kids under 2 and a dog

are making there way over to SA to be with family. If I haven't replied to your emails I'm sorry but I should be up and running again later next week.

Today Harrison found his second Bear the my replacement bear just in case he happens to loose the other one and he was totally over the moon...He spent most of his day carrying the two around the house with a grim from ear to ear. I have pretty much since birth been switching them around and washing them so they both look as worn out as each other. I said to Harrison today that Bears brother was in town and will be going home tomorrow so make the most of it...Don't know if he understood me but he certainly made the most of his time today with his two best friends...B1 and B2

For all those who know me and know me well, you would know that I'm in love with the colour red so of course my 1st Etsy Treasury listing would include the colour red. I have been waiting some time now for a treasury availability so I can create my own treasury listing.

Of course it one would become available at a time where my eyes were hanging out of my head and I was falling asleep at the computer however I pushed on and for a last minute 2am treasury I think it turned out just lovely!

Welcome to all my new friends from Canberra it was lovely to have a chat and thanks a bunch to everyone who purchased some goodies from Gifts Created I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy making them for you.

Well what a weekend both I and my darling Husband had at the Canberra Handmade markets.

After the long drive we arrived ready and excited to begin our day with unpacking the car with all my goodies including my new Mushroom kits so exciting as I also sold a few! The new Mr Wriggle kits did really well too. (please if you purchased one of the kits e-mail me with some photos and let me know how you went I luv to get feedback)

I was so happy with the way they turned out such a cute gift to give.

I just had to have a photo amongst my wonderland of things. We were right next to the window which was great as we had natural light coming in all day but not so good for photos sorry!

My little Owl stayed in his tree the whole day looking out at all the on lookers.

This is what you can expect to receive when you purchase from me lots of red and white with my new logo sticker on the front of the bags....

Overall it was great day Julie and her team did a huge effort and you couldn't have asked for better weather on the day. The food and entertainment was also great. It was great to have a chance to walk around and say hello to all my lovely market lady friends you make me smile...

Looking forward to the next Handmade market in June.

I'm so excited to be heading to Canberra this Sunday for the Handmade market. I have lots of new goodies along with the much loved older ones!

I have been working hard on some new patterns and turning some of my much loved designs into patterns for all to make.

The line up of designers that will be attending handmade is huge and I'm sure that I will have a lot of fun shopping Oh I mean looking around.....he he he !

Ok so this weekend I didn't get much work done. I spent Saturday working on up grading my little ones room to a more playfull and useful bed room...and wallla!

I purchased this really cute Michael Miller fabric quilt, pillow and rug from Allies Attic in Paddington last year and have been wanting to make matching curtians but hadn't known where to start...But after meeting my Mum and Dad at Ikea last week I found the perfect curtins and took some of the matching fabric and sewed a strip of it over the animals that came with the curtians...I love it when things come togther.

Harrison's room of course had to have a set of my magical mushrooms for him to look at when my darling husband read's him his books that he loves ever so much these days...

My mother found this old desk on the side of the road years ago and kindly gave it to me and since then it has sat in the garage until last week when my Father in law sanded it down and gave it a new lease on life.
Harrison just loves it and thinks it's neat to hide things in...

Harrison loves his new room and to tell you the truth so do I.

A weekend well spent on my little one...

now must catch up on some orders and sewing before next weekends big event

OK so are you a book worm? I know my little boy Harrison is and that's why I decided to design his own little book worm to sit on his shelf and watch over his books when he sleeps..... Great news is that he will be making an appearance next weekend at Handmade in Canberra along with a kit for all those that love to sew...

Any suggestions on a Name for him?

Toadstools or Mushrooms

I'm in the process of putting together my kits and patterns for Stitches and Craft in April and have come across a dilemma what to call my pattern Mushrooms or Toadstools???

What do you think?

People have often said to me I love your mushrooms but don't know where to put them as I don't have little kids.....Well just a little look at where my mushrooms ended up last week I use to have them in the lounge room but they have made there way to the kitchen....So in response to the questions the limit to where they can pop up is all up to you and your imagination...

It's often thought that when at a market you are at competition with your neighbours fighting for the sale and any one who does anything similar you are at war with. Well that was far from the truth at the last Mathilda's market held at the lovely Paddington Town Hall.

I was positioned right next to the Lovely Jacqueline designer and owner of

Red Berry Design. Jacqueline's stand looked amazing and both her and her boy friend are just lovely people. Totally amazing mobiles

And they are even cuter boxed in....

Well today I launched my new logo and web design. I'm so happy with the overall result and can't wait to get my new business cards and stickers printed up...

A big thank you to Maree from True Love for creating my logo and designs I just love the end result and she made it so easy to communicate with her even through we are on the other side of the world.... If you are interested in clip art you should check out her totally cute shop .

Well looks like I've gotten over my tummy bug just in time for Mathilda's Market tomorrow at Paddington Town Hall it's the 1st Sydney Mathilda's Market for the year. I'm looking forward to seeing all the beautiful stalls set up in this lovely venue....

The Great thing about Mathilda's Markets are that they are always inside so there is no excuse to come out and brave the weather for your chance to pick up some bags full of lovely goodness.....

I'm lucky to have the help of my husband tomorrow and will have to make some time to wonder around and get a chance to say hello to some familiar faces...

Canberra Mathilda's Over so fast

Well on Saturday we travelled to Canberra for the Mathilda's Market at the lovely stunning Hyatt Hotel Canberra we had the pleasure of staying there on the Saturday night and it was just lovely to relax and enjoy the atmosphere.

As soon as we arrived we couldn't wait to relax on the bed and Harrison wanted to check out the bed springs...
I Couldn't wait to use my life size tree display and got nothing but lovely comments on the day. It was perfect to hang all my mobiles under and it fits in well with my woodlands theme. This is a sneak peek of my new logo along with my new snails and
lady bugs which were a huge hit.

Just in time for Easter....Lot's of cute little Bunnies

YAY!....It's here....
We are packed and ready to head off to Canberra for a weekend of FUN and let's hope lot's of SALES. Harrison is still in bed so I'm hoping I can get a few things done before he wakes up.
We are staying in Canberra for the night which I'm a little excited about...I've only been to Canberra once before but that was in amongst lot's of kids on a school bus and we were all bithcin about how far it was and at the time I was more interested in what was on my Walkman YES Walkman lol! then how great the sight's of Canberra are.....

So now a few (well a lot) of years later we are making the Trip to Canberra. This will be my little boy's first trip out of Sydney so double Yay for him...

UP UP AND AWAY....

Thought I'd show you one of my new creations the Hot Air Balloon....

I bought a great bed room set that includes pillow, quilt and lamp from the lovely ladies from dribble and piddles that I met at Allies Attic last year. They have these amazing planes and flying blimps and hot air balloons so very cute and a little more grown up then baby pastels which so don't fit Harrison's personality at present....

And the other day Harrison and I saw a Hot Air Balloon take off in Windsor so that got me thinking to ditch the baby mobiles and replace with his very own Hot Air Balloon which so goes well with his new bed spread...

So there you have it my New addition to my mobiles the Hot Air Balloon....

Road Trip

I'm so exciting to be travelling to Canberra this weekend for my 1st Mathilda's Market for the year. It will be in the new venue the Park Hyatt which I hear is amazing and a lot bigger then the last venue so that means more shopping for me....(Shhhhh....Don't tell my Husband.) I'm lucky to be attending the market with some other Sydney ladies including Helen from Ensparkle who has a great new logo and website design so make sure you check her out.

Crazy Day's

Last week was such a crazy week I had so many projects going at once. In a previous post I had asked people to give me ideas about how to display my mobiles, clouds, etc. And some one suggested that I buy a large display tree...Well that gave me a great idea why not make one and even better make it out of felt...!
So here you have it a felt display tree...
At Allies Attic on Saturday I had so many people come up to me and say that they just loved ...Thank you to you all....Your feedback and kind words really help me to sew on...

Gifts Created turns 1

Just to think we are now ONE!

The Label Gifts Created began on this date last year. The March 2009 Mathilda's Market was my 1st Market as Gifts Created. And what a year Harrison is growing so fast along with my range.
My day is a balance between working and taking care of Harrison. I am blessed to be able to work and be at home with him .However it is hard putting aside work (because you can always do more) and enjoying being a mum, because there are not enough hours in the day.

To Celebrate this occasion I'm giving away a Squeaky Owl.

To be in the running I'm looking for suggestions on how to display my baby mobiles, clouds and birdcages at the my markets?

Craft Room

Last night I spent 2 hours with some lovely ladies and had a great time chatting , sewing. Well to be honest more chatting then sewing but I supposed that's what happens when you get like minded ladies together. Big thanks goes out to Fiona for finding a place in the Hills to hold the Craft Room. Last year I read about how much fun ladies from the craft room where having and this year I promised my self to get out of the house and mingle with like minded ladies too and to have one so close to home is such an added bonus... When I arrived home my boys (Hubby and Baby) were asleep so I stayed up late into the night trying to catch up on some sewing.. So looking forward to the next catch up....

In Light of my up coming markets I have been kept busy making Mushrooms this week....Oh how I love to make my very cute mushrooms.

I am also trying to get my act together this year and be much more productive and organised. This was only a few of my new years resolutions.
I'm finding I'm already falling behind.
I have also been spending a little time designing so have fallen behind on my sewing and replenishment of stock...but the good news is I now have Babushkas and little houses to add to my collection.
so all I'm left with is ahhhhhh there I feel better now! and now back to the sewing machine.
